Women’s Euro Day 7 Preview

Noon-Iceland vs Switzerland (Doetinchem)

Iceland-They will need to be more offensive if they want to win, they were dominated by a good France team

Switzerland-They played decent but, like Belgium could not score against Austria’s defense

Prediction-

1-0 Switzerland, another defensive game but, the Swiss score a late winner

245pm-France vs Austria (Utrecht)

France-Dominated Iceland but, could not score more than 1 goal, I am not worried about them, too good of a team to not be able to score

Austria-Scored an early goal and held on against Switzerland, this game is different, a much better offense in France and holding on to an early goal on defense will not work here.

Prediction-

3-1 France, Austria is not as good as France and it will show

Women’s Euro Day 6 Review

Sweden 2-0 Russia

Goal Scorer- Lotta Schlein 29′ and Stina Blackenstenius 51′

Thoughts-Just as I expected, Sweden’s defense was the difference in the win over Russia. This pretty much sets up Sweden to advance. Russia needs to upset Germany to advance.

Germany 2-1 Italy

Goal Scorer-Germany, Josephine Henning  19′ and Babett Peter 67′ PK and Italy, Ilara Mauro 29′

Thoughts-Itlay played a much better game, but gave up a PK for the winning goal, much better than their loss to Russia but, they are still eliminated

Up Next-Tuesday 7/25, 245pm-Sweden vs Italy (Doetinchem) and 245pm- Germany vs Russia (Utrecht)
